Wedding Policy for Faith UMC

If you are reading this booklet, you probably have been in contact with our church office concerning the possibility of a wedding in your future. This book is to help you in planning your wedding. While it might seem like a lot of details, we feel that these guidelines are reasonable, realistic, and ultimately will enhance your wedding experience.
SCHEDULING THE CHURCH FOR YOUR WEDDING: Ml weddings are scheduled through our wedding coordinator. The wedding date is not considered firm until a completed application and deposit are received at the church office, reviewed by the wedding coordinator, and calendered through the pastor.; An application deposit of $150 shall accompany the application. The application deposit is non-refundable if accepted. All fees are due two weeks prior to your wedding. All fees should be paid through the wedding coordinator per her instructions.; The fees include using the church for your wedding rehearsal, normally one hour and a four-hour maximum on your wedding day. This includes the decorating of the sanctuary.
SCHEDULING THE ORGANIST: The church has an organist available for weddings. This is the only organist approved for weddings at Faith Church. The wedding coordinator will contact the organist to schedule the wedding date. After this, you will be responsible to contact the organist to arrange the service music no less than eight weeks prior to the date of your wedding. If you wish to have special vocalists, the organist will rehearse with the vocalist(s) the night of the rehearsal. Vocalist will need to provide the organist with the sheet music they will be using in the key in which they wish to sing. All wedding music shall be approved by the minister.
IF YOU WISH TO HAVE TAPED MUSIC: You, or the vocalist you might be using, will need to provide the tape. It must be reviewed by the wedding coordinator and pastor. A $35 fee will be added to cover the cost of providing a trained sound-system operator. Only church personnel will be permitted to operate or adjust the sound system.
THE WEDDING COORDINATOR: The church uses a Wedding Coordinator to aid you in planning and execution of your wedding. Please feel free to contact the coordinator if you have any questions or concerns.
PHOTOGRAPHY: Photographs are allowed during the ceremony. Please have your photographer contact the pastor before the service if he/she has any questions as to appropriate times/places for pictures.

These fees have been set by the Trustees and Administrative Council of Faith United Methodist Church and are not negotiable by the staff of the church.

SOME BASIS RULES GOVERNING THE USE OF THE CHURCH

The person who signs the Faith Church wedding application is financially responsible for any loss or damage the facilities may sustain as a result of carelessness, negligence, or insufficient supervision.

No rice or grain may be thrown in or on the church grounds. No real rose petals may be thrown by flower girl (stains carpet).

Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the premises under any conditions. This means the church parking lot and property.

Absolutely no food or drinks are allowed inside the sanctuary. Light snacks, (no hot food, i.e. pizza, hamburgers, fries) and drinks may be consumed in the dressing room.

Smoking is not permitted inside the building.

No children may be left in the nursery without adult supervision.
