*The Easter Gospel John 20:1-9

*Response to the Gospel

Pastor: It’s early, why are you so excited?

People: He is risen!

Pastor: Are you sure? How do you know?

People: We’ve experienced His presence in our lives, and heard Him call out our names!

Pastor: Shout it out loud then – for all the world to hear!

People: He is risen! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

*Song “Morning Has Broken” Pg. 145

Morning has broken like the first morning; blackbird has spoken like the first bird. Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning! Praise for them, springing fresh from the Word!

Sweet the rain’s new fall sunlit from heaven, like the first dewfall on the first grass. Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden, sprung in completeness where his feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning born of the one light Eden saw play! Praise with elation, praise every morning, God’s recreation of the new day!

*Song “Because He Lives” Pg. 364

God sent his Son, they called him Jesus; he came to love, heal, and forgive; he lived and died to buy my pardon, an empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

Refrain

Because he lives, I can face tomorrow; because he lives, all fear is gone; because I know he holds the future, and life is worth the living just because he lives.

How sweet to hold a new born baby, and feel the pride and joy he gives; but greater still the calm assurance, this child can face uncertain days because he lives.

Refrain

And then one day I’ll cross the river; I’ll fight life’s final war with pain; and then as death gives way to victory, I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know he reigns.

Refrain

*Benediction

Pastor: Peace be with you!

People: Alleluia!

Pastor: As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.

People: Amen!
